What is this all about?

In an amazing over reach in the perception of public adulation during an election campaign that was always going to provide the WA Government with a massive majority the Premier roared onto the Optus Stadium forecourt in a V8 with a smile as wide as the Swan River.

Roger the Revhead was to be seen in all his splendour. The only problem was the the Emporer had no clothes and his courtiers were too frightened to tell him, but the public were not!

The backlash was fast and furious. This was not what was expected and with his trusty sidekick Rita Saffiotti (think Baldrick to Roger's Blackadder) by his side they conspired to create a whole new story as to what this was all about.

Suddenly there was cycle racing (good for the environment eh?), then para sports (throw in the disability card), bicycle training (you can't deny kids a safe place to learn to ride), an ampitheatre to house 15-20,000 people (throw in the Arts). Roger and Rita had all bases covered. Afterall it was only two days racing of the V8's per year.

However the deadly duo underestimated the local residents, their anger, their ability to 'join the dots', their research and their networking. Laying kilometers of concrete through a beautiful parkland, creating noise levels well above safe limits, destroying the environment, what is there not to love about about this proposal?
