Hi I am Robin Harvey, Co-Chair of the Save Burswood Park Alliance. We need your help!

Our community is fighting hard to stop the WA Labor Government from destroying a unique inner city parkland close to the Swan River. They have decided to build a permanent motor racing track through the park which will be used by Supercars Australia, a private company run by  millionaires. The track will destroy both the flora and fauna that have made their homes in the parklands. They are planning to drain a number of lakes, killing the endangered long necked tortoises, birdlife and other native species. The racetrack will also reduce access to an important and rare passive recreational space for many living in the inner city and for the many members of the wider Perth community who use it regularly.

There are already two motorplexes for use in Perth and another private one in development. This track is not necessary! The government has negotiated with Supercars Australia and other big corporations related to it and no one really knows why. There has been no genuine consultation with the public and there was certainly no call for it to be built by the community!

Pleased donate to our cause - it is a David and Goliath fight and we need funds to go to the next level of protest. We are asking the government to simply follow their own "Burswood Park Vision" published in 2023 which promoted an urban forest, cultural spaces and cycling tracks.

We will use funds donated for signs, supporting community protests, legal advice, an independent acoustic study and review of the business case.

Many thanks for taking the time to read our story
